My AWS Journey

September 18, 2026

🎉 Today marks a major milestone in my cloud computing journey. I wanted to share a quick update on what I've been up to over the past two months.

I started learning Amazon Web Services (AWS) just two months ago, diving straight into the deep end of cloud architecture, security, and core services. It has been an intense, highly rewarding experience building hands-on labs and studying the fundamentals.

What I've Achieved So Far

Through dedication, late-night study sessions, and practical implementations, I’ve managed to hit some great milestones:

1

Earned 2 Certifications

Covering core AWS fundamentals and cloud architecture principles to establish a solid baseline.

2

Completed AWS Cloud Quest

Finshed Cloud Practitioner training through a gamified learning experience that lets you solve real-world IT problems in a virtual city.

Here is a quick snapshot from my Cloud Quest avatar celebrating the Cloud Practitioner badge:

Why Gamified Learning Works

If you haven't checked out AWS Cloud Quest yet, I highly recommend it. It breaks down complex architectural patterns into fun, interactive missions where you actually build resources inside a real AWS Sandbox environment.

Here is a short clip showing the vibrant, GTA-style world of Cloud Quest where I spend a lot of my time completing cloud assignments:

What's Next?

Stopping here is not an option! With the foundational knowledge locked in, my next steps are:

  • Learning Terraform and wiring everything together with AWS using Terraform, LocalStack, and Ansible for local infrastructure projects.
  • Diving deeper into advanced networking and serverless architectures.
  • Working towards higher-level associate and professional certifications.

Stay tuned for more updates as I continue leveling up my cloud skills! If you're also on an AWS journey, let's connect and share notes.
